The Magic School Bus

I was asked by my 17 year old cousin to make a Magic School Bus cake... he wanted to challenge me, so he thought!!

This one was fun.  Seeing as I had never heard about The Magic School Bus, I turned to the internet and  found out all about it.

Strawberry Flower Cupcakes

My good friend Pam is who believed in me enough to ask me to make her daughter's cake... and every since then, back in October 2010 I have been on this cake decorating journey!!  Thanks Pam... and the lady still asks me to make her special treats for her special people.  These beautiful cupcakes are for her mother, Juanita's birthday!

They are Strawberry cake with Strawberry Buttercream!  Delicious!!  The buttercream taste like Strawberry ice cream!!  So yummy and Pam's favorite by far!

Princess Tiana Cake

So excited that Disney created an African American Princess!!  Of course Tiana is all the rage with all little girls and I am only so delighted to be able to recreate her in a cake!

I have done a few Tiana cakes and this one by far is my best! Mainly because I actually took a basic cake decorating class back in November where I learned cake decorating from the ground up... starting with the right batter!

Finally got smart and got the Wonder Mold from Wilton!  Man does that make the job easier!

Cake decorating 101!!  I am getting so much better with the torting and filling stage!

My crumb coat!  Learned that one as well!!

Working on the first layer of Fondant leaves of the dress!

Snoopy Dog House Cake

My adventures in cakes have led me to making a Snoopy Dog House Cake for a friend of mine husband's birthday!  This was my first carved cake and had studied and research online how other people created theirs and finally decided to sandwhich to cakes together, one for the house, and one for the roof!  It was challenging.  I made a yellow cake with chocolate buttercream filling, covered in fondant to create the house!

The first cake cake tier was three layers and covered with white fondant.  I used a piece of black fondant to create the doggy door.

After covering the second tier with red fondant I sandwhiched the two tiers together creating the dog house.

Snoopy believe it or not was not that challenging... I was panicked at the thought of doing him, but I think I did pretty good for my first time!

Woodstock too cute!

Added some buttercream grass for appearance!

Feeling confident about my Snoopy dog, I attempted Charlie!!  A bit challenging but learned alot!

Cookie Monster Cake

Have to acknowledge www.CocoCake.com for her Cookie Monster cake!  I just love her style and when I saw this cake I had to recreate it!  Simple yet strikingly cool!  Made this adorable Cookie Monster Cake for my husband's birthday!  He said Cookie Monster was his favorite Sesame Street Character and had to make it for him.

The cake itself was a Banana Chocolate Chip Cake with Caramel, Banana, and Whip Cream Filling with White Chocolate Buttercream frosting tinted blue!
